The Mendral team is joining Anthropic

The Mendral team is joining Anthropic. We started the company to automate the engineering work that isn't your product: diagnosing CI failures, fixing flaky tests, reviewing the dependency updates nobody reads. We'll be continuing that work as part of Anthropic.

We're winding down the hosted Mendral product and working directly with each customer to ensure a smooth transition. If you run Mendral today, you should have already heard from us.

We've spent over a decade building for developers, first as founding engineers at Docker, then as co-founders of Dagger. Mendral was different: for the first time, we didn't build a tool to help with the work. We built an agent that does it. Claude has been under the hood since our first commit, and we lived the models' progress first-hand: every few months, a new model made part of our roadmap unnecessary and a bigger part of it possible.

That's why our team is joining Anthropic to work on Claude Platform. There's no better place for the Mendral team to work on what software engineering is becoming.

Thank you to our customers. Mendral wouldn't have been possible without your constant feedback. To our first customers especially, for trusting us early and pushing us from the very first weeks. To our investors, for backing us before we had much to show. And to YC, for betting on the two of us a second time.

The work isn't finished. We're going where it goes next.
